The Common Sign

Sign was designed by talented artist and Buchanan native, Emma Lysy, with the support of our Design Team. The sign was funded and installed by North American Signs. Thank you to North American Signs for making the vision a reality!

Days Avenue Activation: Phase 1

Our Days Avenue Activation Project involves three phases. Phase 1 was to drive traffic down this avenue by providing additional food options, spaces for lingering, and entertainment. We enacted this phase through the creation of a weekly event taking place over the summer called Munchie Mondays. This was made possible through a grant provided by Michigan Gateway Community Foundation given to The City of Buchanan and enacted by our team at LiveBuchanan. The City of Buchanan also provided in-kind support through equipment, services, and labor.

Days Avenue Activation: Phase 2

This was made possible through a grant provided by Michigan Gateway Community Foundation given to The City of Buchanan and enacted by our team at LiveBuchanan. The City of Buchanan also provided support through equipment, services, and labor.

Downtown Buchanan

Attractions Map

Thank you to Buchanan local and talented artist Emma Lysy for gifting our community an attractions map that was so clearly made by someone who loves our small town.

Just like Buchanan, there's more to discover every time you look.

Mel Ravish Memorial Board

In downtown Buchanan there is a communication board on Main Street that has sat broken and unused for years. This board was erected as a memorial to dedicated community advocate Mel Ravish. Our team thought it was important to put some love back into the board and to reinvigorate its use as a communication board. We cleaned up the board, repainted the backing, attached new lettering, and have made it the proud new home to Buchanan’s latest attractions map completed in 2023 by talented artist and Buchanan local, Emma Lysy. This map took inspiration from former map designs and serves as a loving memorial to Buchanan as it stands today.

Mel Ravish Memorial Board will serve as the home for future community communications.
